Routine Appointments:

It is the patient's responsibility to tell the surgery if they cannot keep an appointment or if they are going to be late.

Please cancel unwanted appointments

The Practice has installed a dedicated cancellation hotline.  To cancel an appointment contact 01226 282758 and select option 1 to leave a message.  A dedicated member of staff will then cancel the appointment on your behalf.

Tel 01226 282758 between 8.00am-12.30am 1.30pm-6.30pm

We have now activated the SMS message appointment reminder service so all appointment reminders will be sent via text message to all patients that we have mobile telephone numbers for.

Please let the surgery know if you no longer wish to receive text message reminders

All surgeries are by appointment.

These can be requested by telephone, internet or in person. You may consult any doctor, not necessarily the one you are registered with. However, to aid continuity of care we ask that you try to see the same doctor for follow up of any particular episode of illness.

Please specify the doctor you wish to see when making the appointment. If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know so that it can be offered to someone else.

Urgent Same Day appointments

Urgent cases are seen on the day the patient contacts surgery. All of our same day urgent appointments are for problems that can't wait until the next routine appointment. These appointments are dealt with by our Advance Practitioner who can prescribe any treatment required. Please note, the receptionist will ask the nature of your condition to ensure the Advance Practitioner can deal with it.

Home Visits

If the patient is too ill to travel to surgery a doctor will visit if they consider it appropriate.  Visits are normally for genuinely housebound and would not normally be necessary for children.  If possible please request before 10.00am. You will be asked why the visit is necessary so that doctor can judge the urgency of the call.

Out of Hours Appointments

If the Practice is closed and you need medical attention please consider if the out of hours Doctor will be able to deal with your problem rather than attending the A & E Department.  For advice or home visit request, telephone the surgery as usual. You will be transferred to the OOH service which is the Doctors Deputising Service.

Phone calls are recorded by the Deputising Service. They are answered in order and there may be a short delay at busy times. You may be offered advice, a consultation or a home visit. Please reserve out of hours requests for genuine emergencies.
